(from newsnet5.com) BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, Ohio - A local police officer is recovering after being nearly run over while assisting a stranded motorist on I-480 Saturday. Brooklyn Heights Police Officer Lt. John Lambert is hospitalized in fair condition. The dash camera in his cruiser captured the dramatic images as they progressed. The video shows Lambert standing on the side of the freeway with a motorist when an out of control vehicle enters the frame. He pushed the stranded driver out of the way and was flipped over the guardrail. Officer Lambert suffered a broken pelvis, fractured eye socket and cracked tailbone.
