Over the weekend, Robert Barker of Leesburg, Florida was watching
his 13-year old stepson play in a youth football game. His stepson
was benched after complaining he was dizzy in the blazing sun
and 90+ degree heat, and his stepdad was none too happy. He took
him home and made him run windsprints out in the yard in full
football gear while threatening him with his own BB gun. He was
arrested shortly thereafter, and his sunburned mugshot is AMAZING.

Barker reportedly told the teen he needed more conditioning,
the arrest report said, so he set up cones about 20 yards apart
in the front yard of a home.
Then he ordered the teen to perform sprints while wearing football
gear. It was 91 degrees with a heat index of 107 on Saturday,
a deputy said in a report.
The teenager said he feared Barker would use the weapon on him.
But the man told deputies he never pointed the weapon at the victim.
An anonymous caller notified police and they arrested and charged
Barker with child abuse and aggravated assault with a weapon.
Barker bonded out of the Lake County Jail on Sunday evening,
records show. |
