Back in 1980, Homenella Cole of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, was 44 years old . . . and ALL about her REEFER. In 1980, the New York City police busted her for coming down to the states with a bunch of marijuana. She was charged with possession with the intent to distribute . . . but, after they put out a warrant, Homenella fled back to Canada. She's been there ever since, while the felony warrant has stayed in the system, still open. Now, 30 years later, she's 74 years old. On Monday, she was trying to cross the border for a visit to New York, and border patrol ran her name. They connected her to the outstanding warrant in NYC, so the Canadians TURNED ON HER, arrested her and extradited her to the U.S. According to her daughter, Homenella thought the charge had been settled a few decades ago, which is why she tried to visit New York. They don't know how long Homenella will be held or when she'll have her trial. She could be facing up to one to four years in prison. (National Post)
