Tanner Sandlin of Texas has just sold the 13th known copy of
Atari's Air Raid game for $31,600. After reading an article about
rare video games he realized that he owned one of those very games!
He listed it on eBay starting at 50 cents and the ending price
was the second highest ever for a video game.
Sandlin says the game wasn't really all that great. In fact,
the only reason he still had it was because it was so terrible.
He and his friends used to borrow games from each other all the
time --sometimes you'd get your game back, sometimes you wouldn't,
and that was OK. But no one wanted to keep Air Raid, so it kept
coming back to him. |
