The dental impressions of musician and singer Tiny Tim were
recently sold on eBay for $1,500.
(text from Brian Blouin's ebay auction)
When Tiny Tim died in November 1996, I had the honor of attending
his funeral along with his closest friends and family. Knowing
Tiny for a few years prior to his death, his wife learned of our
correspondence and invited me into her home in February of 1997.
During this time I was able to walk into Tiny’s bedroom
as he left it. Checking out his ukuleles and stage suits, I couldn’t
help but notice this item on a shelf. Tiny’s dentist made
a molding of his teeth as he was looking into having oral surgery.
The item was going to be disposed of, but I asked if I could have
the item. I’ve had this item in my possession for over 12
years. It’s in the same condition as when I brought the
item back from Eden Prairie, MN for the exception of some adhesive
I’ve added to the hinges. This is a very fragile item. I
hope that this item finds a home where it will be preserved and
appreciated. It’s truly a one of a kind item of this 1960’s
icon. |
