Levitation
With the help of listeners we reinacted a few of those games that we used to do at slumber parties as kids.

On first try Sultan is a bit heavy to lift....

The laying on of hands...

Now remove hands quickly...

Up he goes!

We tried the Light As A Feather, Stiff As A Board but since we were laughing too much it failed. If you want to try these yourself here's how to do them:

Light As A Feather, Stiff As A Board
Have one person lay on the ground (flat on their back) and keep this person relaxed and still. Arrange a group of people around this person - preferably four or 5 people. Each person places two fingers of each hands under the edge of the person lying on the ground. Everyone closes their eyes - and let the chanting begin. The most common chant is "Light as a feather, stiff as a board". This chant can be repeated until a relaxed, soothing atmosphere is reached (approximately 20 chants is usually necessary). While reaching an agreed number of chants - or when feeling the others lifting the person up - join in and lift together! or give it a go on the count of three - one two three UP!!!! If this is done right you should be able to levitate the person on the ground upwards quite high,.............well you should..........but it doesn't always work.

The version that we did with the instruction of a helpful listener was to message the temples of the person laying down and then tell a story with the person messaging saying it and everyone else repeating (lights out). Bill was our person laying on the ground so our story went something like: Bill has been in a terrible car accident, we can hear the sirens from the ambulance, Bill's heart is beating very slowly, the lights are geting dim, Bill is now dead, light as a feather stiff as a board. Then all lift at the same time. Unfortunately we we laughing too much for it to work!

Levitation
1. Have 5 people and a steady chair ready, willing and able to help you in your levitation trick.

2. Decide who is going to be the person you levitate - put that person in the chair - tell them to sit down, shut up and hang on :).

3. Sit the chair to face due West (sometimes this will work with the chair facing due North - if nothing happens try changing the position).

4. Stand 4 people around the chair in a square i.e. 2 people behind the shoulders and two at either knee.

5. The person who is going to be levitated must sit relaxed, with both feet together on the floor, hands in lap.

6. All four participants surrounding the person in the chair should now extend their hands out with fists clenched except two fingers. Palms down, the person beside the shoulder places his or her fingers under the armpit - the person beside the knee places his or her fingers under the knee (you get the idea) - together everyone should try to lift the person in the chair first off before you do anything. You should find that you cannot do it.

7. Try again BUT THIS TIME........ - Everyone place their hands one on top of the other upon the chair sitters head - press down slightly (don't cave the poor persons head in) - no two hands of the one person should be touching each other i.e. one hand of each person on top of the other. Lay your hands as if you would heal this person in the chair! - In unison count to ten - on the count of nine remove all hands QUICKLY together and place under the person in the chair (under armpits and knees), on the count of TEN lift and UP THEY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

If you keep counting you should easily be able to hold the person up in the air while you count and lift down again slowly. GIVE IT A GO!!!!!!!!!
