Shawn & Amber - the lucky couple!
I am writing to enter into the hog wild honeymoon. My finacee
(I'm 34,
she 33) and I have been engaged for about 6 months. In between
us we
have two 8 year olds (a boy and girl), and a 15 year old girl
(HELP ME!!)
We met about 3 and a half years ago, and she moved down to Iowa
from
Wisconsin, and began looking for a job. Due to her child custody
orders, she had her kids rotating every other week, but due to
her not
working she didn't get to see them as much as she could have,
which
also meant motel rooms every other weekend, and had to provide
all
trasportation. Which meant driving up to Wausau, Wisconsin on
Friday's,
picking up the kids, and driving back, a 10 hour drive roundtrip
(over 600 miles), and then returning them the following weekend.
While here, she looked for a job constantly, going to every temp
agency in the QC area, and scoring very good on the tests, but
never landed a job she was truly happy with. As the gas prices
got higher and the trips got more and more expensive, she ended
up moving back last fall to see her kids more (I know it was hard
on her) and instantly found a good job she likes, and got an apartment
of her own last month. Believe me, it's alot cheaper than the
driving, and the blown motor we already had to replace... a Jeep
Liberty with 160,000!! Which was bought after my Grand Prix lost
a motor on one of the trips.
We see each other about every other weekend, taking turns driving
when bills are caught up and we can afford, and have long term
plans to move back in as soon as everything permits. She came
down last weekend & I go up this weekend. Lately she comes
down more, due mostly to the Harley Davidson that we love to ride
(a '95 Fatboy). Anyways, due to the constant driving, upkeep of
vehicles, having 2 homes to pay for, etc. I had to "improvise"
with a "cheap" ring (yes, she knew) which turns her
finger green and she can't wear anymore. We are going to get married
someday (no date set due to above issues) and this would be the
coolest way I could think of. We have never been to somewhere
like Las Vegas, and have talked many times about the trip and
when we would think it would be possible.
