2nd Annual Old Fashioned Family Fun Day

Ann’s Helping Hands Inc. is a not-for-profit organization
that is devoted to helping those in need. School Supplies, Easter
Baskets, Thanksgiving Baskets of food, Christmas Baskets of
warm clothing and toys are given away to families in the Riverdale
School District of Upper Rock Island County. The organization
is funded by public donations.
We are holding our annual fundraiser on August 28th. $5 per
person and only $20 per family. Meal is included in the price
and all children's games are free.
Lots of games and prizes! Returning this year, the ever popular
DUNK TANK!!!
On the menu, BBQ sandwiches, hot dogs, corn on the cob, great
home made desserts, and chips. Meal is included with the entry
price.
Lots of games for children of all ages, That means parents as
well. 3-legged races, water ballon toss, Tug-o-War, face painting,
horseshoes, limbo contest, bouncers for the kids, volleyball,
BINGO and live music! Bring your gloves for the softball game.
Enter the best pie contest, $5 entry for your chance at 1st,
2nd or 3rd prize.
Come join us for a good old time. Bring your lawn chairs and
spend the day! No coolers please.

Larry Armstrong was hit by a car on his motorcycle back in

The Prophetstown, Illinois Fire Department is having their
annual pancake breakfast on Sunday, September 5, at the Prophetstown
Fire Department. The breakfast will be provided from 7am until
1pm. The breakfast will include pancakes, sausage, hash browns,
scrambled eggs, orange juice, milk and coffee. We are a 100%
volunteer fire department. Donations are appreciated.

Mike Nicholas lives in Galesburg, IL. He grew up in Geneseo,
IL and currently works at ALCOA. He is married and has two young
daughters. Mike was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease in
February of 2008. His kidneys began to slowly decline. A biopsy
in October of 2009 found that they were functioning at a very
low rate, and he needed a transplant. In May of 2010 his mother,
Diane, was a confirmed match for a transplant. On June 30, 2010,
Mike received his new kidney. Proceeds will help with medical
costs and expenses incurred during time off work.
$5 donation for taco dinner, 50/50 raffle, silent auction and
bake sale.
"Fight the Pain" Benefit

Mattix Grayson Berg was born on May 9, 2010, at Trinity Medical
Center in Moline, IL. He was born at 23 5/7 weeks gestation
at 1 lbs 6.6 oz and 12 ½ inches long. His due date was
September 01, 2010. He was immediately airlifted to OSF NICU
in Peoria, IL. He has undergone many surgeries, and more are
to be performed before his release. He has also had many medical
setbacks; his release date is still unclear at this point in
time.
His parents, Matthew Berg and Taylor Coleman, have been staying
in Peoria at a campsite since the day he was airlifted to OSF
NICU. They are looking forward to returning to the Quad Cities
upon his release. Taylor will need to stay home full-time with
Mattix due to his medical state and Matt will resume work at
Poor Boy's.
The families of Matt, Taylor, and baby Mattix have organized
a benefit to help raise money to assist with his numerous medical
expenses and their return home. Everyone is invited to attend
and join in the activities. There will be bands, 50/50 raffles,
auctions, and food.
